Old Park Celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday

Old Park Primary enjoyed a Queen’s celebration on June 10th.  All staff and children dressed up for the occasion.  Everybody was encouraged to dress up regal or as a famous person who had been knighted.  We had a great mix of fancy dress costumes ranging from David Bowie to Mr Bean aka Rowan Atkinson.

A Queen themed lunch was made available on the day.  Classes took part in a variety of Queen activities and the day was t
opped off with afternoon tea where everybody had a jam tart or a cream scone.  The scones were a big hit with the chi
ldren!

We also prepared a display of the children’s work that was to be showcased in Brunswick Park as part of The Queen’s Birthday Celebrations in Wednesbury.

Sadly, this was cancelled due to
thunder storms. The work produced by our children catalogued key events in British history during the decade of the 50s. Thank you to all the children that contributed.  Some of our children from KS1 were also due to perform at the party but you will have a chance to see them at the Wednesbury Learning Community Trust Arts Festival at the Town Hall.
