- Walsall Dance Festival 22
A huge
congratulationsto Old Park’s dance team who performed at the Walsall Arena & Arts Centre as part of the Black Country Dance Hub Festival. They performed a dance piece, which incorporated a series of Makaton signs.
They performed with confidence and excellence and we are incredibly proud of them for representing all of Old Park’s values.- Visiting Author - Alan McDonald
The children in Years 1 – 6 had an amazing day completing workshops with the Dirty Bertie author, Alan MacDonald. Our reading ambassadors even presented him with his award for his book ‘ Nappy the Pirate Boy’.
Thanks to everyone who queued to get their books signed, Alan was overwhelmed by the number of children that came to the signing.
- History Experience Days
At the end of our history learning journeys, children take part in a History Experience Day, where they are provided with a chance to apply the historical knowledge they have learnt in a fun and exciting way.
- Exploration Days
Each term, we provide children with the opportunity to explore a range of activities that are additional to their curriculum learning. Children choose which activities they would like to experience and spend a full day exploring and building skills. Activities range from making bug hotels to learning basic ukulele skills to candle making.

- Transform our World Project
Our Year 4 children were lucky enough to take part in a project called Transform Our World. During a 10 week period, children discussed how they could help to make positive changes to our environment. They then worked as a team to make these changes real! Mr Ellis and Mr Jones kindly built raised beds for the children to plant a range of fruits. They had the responsibility to ensure they grow and are healthy. Children also made bird boxes and bug hotels and placed them around one of our forest school areas. Well done, Year 4 – what a positive impact on the environment you have had!
